Living in Tilburg

Tilburg's history as a textile manufacturing city has shaped parts of its housing stock, particularly around the Spoorzone area near the station, where former industrial buildings have been redeveloped into housing and cultural venues. Oud-Noord is one of the older residential districts, with a mix of housing typical of the early twentieth century, while Reeshof, on the western edge of the city, is a much newer, larger residential development built primarily from the 1990s onward. As home to Tilburg University, the city has a notable student population concentrated in certain neighbourhoods, alongside a broader base of long-term residents. Tilburg is generally considered more affordable than the larger Randstad cities, though comparing current listings directly remains the most reliable way to judge the market for a specific neighbourhood and property type.
