Living in Amstelveen

Amstelveen sits directly south of Amsterdam, close enough to function as part of the wider metropolitan housing market while keeping its own suburban, well-maintained character. The Stadshart forms one of the larger shopping concentrations in the region, surrounded by established residential districts such as Elsrijk and Randwijk. Westwijk and Groenelaan continue the postwar expansion towards the polder edge, and the Amsterdamse Bos lies within cycling distance of much of the city. A significant international community lives here because of nearby employer campuses, which shows in the availability of rental apartments and international schooling options. Light rail and metro connections link Amstelveen with central Amsterdam, and many commuters also travel by bike or car. Expect strong competition for family houses, while apartment stock is comparatively broad, so filtering clearly on size and layout pays off.
